Champion of Music Education Wayne Splettstoeszer Joins KHS America Academic Alliance, Representing Jupiter Band Instruments
Mount Juliet, TN, December 9, 2024… KHS America is proud to announce that Wayne Splettstoeszer, an accomplished music educator with nearly three decades of experience, has joined the KHS America Academic Alliance as an affiliated educator representing Jupiter Band Instruments.
Splettstoeszer has dedicated twenty-eight years to inspiring students as Director of Instrumental Music and Music Technology at Torrington High School in Torrington, Connecticut. Torrington Public Schools have been recognized twenty-four times since 2000 as one of the “Best Communities for Music Education in America,” and the Torrington High School Music Technology Program’s innovative curriculum and music technology website are utilized by over one hundred K–12 schools across the U.S., Canada, and Australia.
A sought-after speaker, Splettstoeszer has presented on topics such as Music Technology, ESSER funding, and Pre-Service Music Education. He has taught Music Education courses at Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University and has shared his expertise at respected institutions including the HARTT School of Music, Western Connecticut State University, and the University of Massachusetts.
Splettstoeszer has also led professional development sessions for educators across the East Coast, cementing his role as a leader in music education advocacy and innovation.
His extensive honors include being a 2023 GRAMMY Music Educator Award Semifinalist, NFHS Outstanding Music Educator Award recipient, and Torrington Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellow. Other accolades include being named Teacher of the Year by Torrington Public Schools, Torrington High School, and the Connecticut Music Educators Association, as well as National Technology Teacher of the Year by the Technology Institute for Music Educators.
